(LtR) Ian Clarke, Gerad MacArthur, Guy Kennedy, Megan Davies A new chair at Predator Free Wānaka There’ve been some changes at Predator Free Wānaka we’d like to share. Our Chair, Guy Kennedy, who has spent the past 2 and ½ years tirelessly helping set up trap lines, fundraising via grants and donations, developing the website, and running committee meetings, has decided to step down. We have benefited greatly from all of his mahi so thanks Guy for all that you have done and continue to do. The new Chair is Ian Clarke, a trap line co-ordinator and trapper on the Newcastle and Deans Bank lines. Ian has been a member of the committee for some time and, as Chair, will focus on sustainably running and expanding Predator Free Wānaka. Gerad MacArthur is a trap line co-ordinator for the Outlet and Hikuwai trap lines, as well as our bait supplier and our trap line planner who will look at what lines we want to complete and the new lines we’d like installed. Our volunteer co-ordinator is Megan Davies, whom many of you know. Megan works with the trap line co-ordinators to ensure there are enough volunteers on lines, is active in monitoring and setting up many of the existing and new trap lines and is trapping, as well as participating in our events and trapping workshops. Guy, Ian, Gerad and Megan are all volunteers who put many hours of work into running the organisation. We’ll introduce our other committee members in our next newsletter.
